Cosimo Zaccaria is Signal Management Lead at EMA. He deals with signal management processes of emerging safety signals and provides support to the PRAC. Over the past years, his main focus has been the development of new tools for signal detection (such as the eRMR – electronic Reaction Monitoring Report) leads on the testing and implementation of new and established methodologies, with a particular focus on vulnerable population such as paediatrics and pregnancy surveillance. In 2020, he was appointed Co-Ordinator of the core Covid-19 safety monitoring group at EMA responsible for the strategy and the handling of safety signals in the pandemic setting. In January 2022, he was also nominated Co-Chair of the PRAC workstream on Methodology so called SMART Methods with participation from academia, Upsala Monitoring Centre and national competent authorities
